Never forget.
Really surprising. I’d love to see some localized exit polls, just to get a better sense of the whys that went into that breakdown. I still think Obama’s got it, but it’s gonna be close.
Probably gonna pick it up with even 3+ points.
Chesterfield is looking pretty much like a copy of 2008 with 77% in, which is a very good sign for Obama.
I’m in this special kind of hell where TV is providing me with information I need, but packaging it in such a manner that I want to stab myself just listening to it. Are there any news stations not treating it like the superbowl?
Chesterfield County, Virginia, is usually one of the first counties to get all of their precinct votes in and tallied. They’re also a reliably Republican stronghold. Comparing tonight’s numbers against previous cycles (adjusting for the little demographic shift that has occurred) makes it pretty easy to make a generally accurate call about the state writ large, way before anybody else.
It’s where I’ve been sitting the past week, and I don’t see anything happening in the next few days to give me pause on posting it.
